PS4 Sold An Impressive Figure Of 6.2M During The Holiday Season And 53.4M Units WorldWide!

During the holiday season, it was terrific for Sony because it has sold 6.2 million for its PS4 systems alone. The company announced that it has sold 53.4 million for its PS4 systems since its launch in 2013 and as of Jan. 1, 2017.

Meanwhile, Sony revealed that for its PS4 games, it has sold 50.4 million at retail and digitally during the holiday period. Moreover, as of Dec. 21, 2016, more than 8.7 million copies are sold for "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." The said figure includes those which have been sold for the PS4 Slim bundle according to Gamespot.

Andrew House the Sony Interactive Entertainment president said in a statement that they are sincerely grateful how their fans and partners tremendously supported them most especially during the holiday season making it as one of the best in the history of Sony.

He further added that their aim for this year is to continue the momentum by making the PS4 title portfolio broad. Its goals also include expanding network services and enriching revolutionary and high-quality gaming experiences on PlayStation VR and PlayStation 4 Pro. He said that the company will make PS4 the best place to play.

According to Forbes, Sony said that PS4 is its best console launch ever since it sells faster compared to its launch on PS2 in March 2000. PS2 has been considered as an almighty console way back. Besides, the sale of the two consoles is somewhat similar.

Meanwhile, the sales of the consoles including PS4, PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro have reached more than 50 million units at the start of December. During the holiday sale in December, the PS4 was temporarily cut off at $250 which likely contributed to the boost of the sale. However, it still has to reach the sales of PS3, which has reached more than 80 million systems.
