Paul George's First Signature Shoe From Nike PG1 Revealed

Paul George is now one of the very few active basketball players who are Nike-sponsored with his own signature shoe, alongside LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Overall, he is the 21st basketball player to have a signature shoe from the company.

The sneaker was revealed yesterday, Jan. 9, 2017 and according to Kotaku, what makes it unique from all the other shoes that Nike has released is that a screenshot of Paul George from the game NBA2K17 is printed on the sole.

The shoe is called PG1 and is tailored to PG13's two-way game according to NBA. It features a distinctive forefoot strap anchored by Flywire cable loops that provide a dynamic and contained feel that provides adaptive support while a forefoot Zoom Air unit and a plush sock liner provide a low-profile and responsive cushioning. The shoe also has a Full-bootie construction that delivers a snug, 1-to-1 fit. It also features a multidirectional scale-inspired blade traction that provides ultimate court grip.

The design of the lightweight, low cut PG1 shoes is the collaboration between George and designer Tony Hardman. It also features George's initial at its tongue and at its bottom. George's signature number 13 is also shown at the shoe's heel counter.

The picture of Paul George will only be on the initial colorway. Paul George's signature shoe is a nod for his love of gaming as well as to acknowledge his status as the cover athlete for the video game "NBA 2K17".

According to Nike, Paul George will debut his signature shoes this week on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 in London where the Indiana Pacers will play against the Denver Nuggets. PG1 will be sold at $110 but there is still no news regarding the release date of the said shoes. Additional details will be added soon.
