Britax Stroller Safety: Childcare Product Manufacturer Recalls Strollers Seen Harmful To Kids

Britax, a manufacturer of childcare products, recently recalled 676,000 strollers after receiving reports it has caused injuries to children. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the sudden detachment of the car seats from the strollers is a cause for concern.

At least 33 reported incidents of unexpected disconnection between the car seats and the strollers have been received by Britax and this led to the voluntary recall. Around 26 kids have suffered injuries ranging from bruises, scratches, bumps and cuts in their heads after falling to the ground.

The strollers being recalled by Britax are car travel system compatible, with an attached car seat carrier, according to AOL. Among the recalled stroller models were the BOB Motion strollers, B-Agile Travel System, B-Agile Double and the Britax B-Agile, regardless of the color. Take note the different model numbers are all included in the recall.

Car travel systems such as the Britax strollers are very useful for parents who bring their kids with them from one place to another, as per Cafe MOM. Parents who make use of these strollers to transport their kids are very concerned about the safety report. This has become a concern not only for parents in the U.S. but also in Mexico where close to 4,600 strollers were sold and in Canada where close to 36,400 strollers were sold.

The company believes in imposing safety standards to make sure that children are protected, according to Britax. This manufacturer has paved the way for technologies geared towards child safety during the past 70 years. It has introduced a wide range of strollers designed to meet the demands of the modern family.

Its officials said the company introduced the ClickTight technology to make sure the car seats are correctly installed. The voluntary recall was done so they can check the safety concerns about the products.
