'Jane the Virgin' Season 3 Spoilers & News: Michael Is Back In Uniform, Jane's Old Crush Surfaces

Michael's fate in "Jane the Virgin" Season 3 continues to be a mystery to the fans of The CW series. The cast and producers remain ambiguous on whether or not the character survived being shot in last season's finale.

However, the actor playing Michael, Brett Dier, has already been seen on the set as filming is underway. "Jane the Virgin" lead star Gina Rodriguez might have actually revealed another hint about her TV husband in a recent Instagram post.

Gina shared a photo of herself and Brett Dier as they prepare for filming new episodes of "Jane the Virgin." Calling him her "favorite TV hubby," the actress might not have been aware that she has shown her co-star wearing a police uniform in the photo. Does this hint that Michael has recovered and is back at work?

As fans know, Michael plays a cop on "Jane the Virgin." Viewers might also recall that Michael was fired from the police force in the middle of last season, but he was rehired just right before he was shot in the finale. However, it's also possible that Gina Rodriquez and Brett Dier could be shooting a flashback scene when this photo was taken. Fans will have to wait until the October premiere to learn the real deal about Michael's fate.

Meanwhile, TV Line reports that someone from Jane's younger years is going to be dropping in on "Jane the Virgin" Season 3. Miles Gaston Villanueva will play Jane's old crush, Sam. The character is described as "intellectual and sexy" and Jane had her eye on him years before she met Michael or Rafael.

Could Sam be part of a flashback scene as well? The reports also say that Jane's past with Sam is going to affect her present with Michael. It's unknown whether Sam will be a one-time appearance or a recurring character, but stay tuned for more updates!
