‘This Is Us’ Season 1 Spoilers, News & Update: Kevin Finally Leaves ‘The Manny’ To Venture In New York; Jack Is Not Dead?

"This is Us" left fans with a cliffhanger in the last episode where Rebecca (Mandy Moore) was seen with her husband Jake's (Milo Ventimiglia) bestfriend Miguel (Jon Huertas). This apparently created a buzz online and caused fans to suspect that Jake is already dead in the present timeline of "This is Us." Another rumor is that Kevin (Justin Hartley) will move on from his show "The Manny" and will be trying his luck in New York.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "This is Us" actor Hartley revealed that his character, Kevin, will be working with a new character to be portrayed by Janet Montgomery. Montgomery, according to Hartley, plays an honest character who will reportedly point out that she landed an audition to an Off-Broadway play after a long time of working for it, unlike Kevin who reached that spot merely because he is famous for his show "The Manny."

"This is Us" star Hartley also described his audition for the Off-Broadway play as awkward. He did not, however, elaborated on what he had to do to win the role and what part he will be auditioning for.

Meanwhile, after the cliffhanger left by "This is Us" Episode 2, speculations emerged that Rebecca might have divorced Jake because of his drinking habits. To recall, Rebecca and Jake struggled in the previous episode of "This is Us" because he is always drunk. The couple reconciled and Jake was even seen giving Rebecca a necklace, Parent Herald reported.

However, the same necklace was still seen on Rebecca in the present timeline of "This is Us" only that he is no longer with Jake but with Miguel. This made fans speculate that Jake might have died instead.

"This is Us" creator Dan Fogelman, however, already advised that the show will require viewers to understand and explore connections among the principal characters as the story progresses, Morning Ledger reported. This could mean that there may be a lot to discover in the relationships of characters so it may be too early to speculate now. There may still be a possibility that Jack is not dead and they are not divorced especially that "This is Us" is known for twists and surprises.
