Teenagers Injured During Las Vegas Halloween Shooting Incident Still Recovering; Police Still Trying To Identify Culprits

Three juveniles between 14 and 16 have been gunned down last Monday, Oct. 31, in the northeast part of Las Vegas. Six teenagers were walking at Carey Avenue at 9:15 p.m. when the shooting happened which left three kids wounded. The teens were rushed to University Medical Center and are now recovering.

On Monday night, about 9:15 p.m., six teenagers, age ranging from 14 up to 16, were strolling along Carey Avenue. When they reached Horizon Ridge near Carey Avenue and Mt. Hood Street, they were caught up in a fight with the passenger of a car.

One passenger of the vehicle opened fire, knocking down three of six teenagers. As of a witness, he has heard five or six gunshots. A neighbor has seen one teen trying to ask help. He said that one teen jumped into their neighbor's yard and spent probably 45 minutes there by his timing. He added that the teen was in great pain.

 Victims identified by the police were at least one boy and one girl. The three gunshot teenagers were taken to University Medical Center. Luckily, the teens did not suffer serious injuries.

The suspect fled away and disappeared. Authorities don't have any description of the culprit up to this time. The only thing reported was that the man might have driven a gold or tan SUV during the shooting, the KTNV has learned. Meanwhile, neighbors in northeast Las Vegas said that their community is getting a lot more violent these days. They were now scared of their safety especially the kids and teenagers.

Every day, 48 teens and children are shot in assaults, police intervention, unintentional shootings and suicide attempts or suicide, according to key gun violence statistic conducted by Brady Campaign. The statistic also showed that every day, 40 teens and children are shot and survive, the organization added.
