Will ‘Vikings’ Season 4 Episode 15 Feature The Death Of Ragnar? Can Ivar Return To Kattegat?

"Vikings" season 4 episode 15 will continue the two-part episode which involves the long conversation between Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and King Ecbert (Linus Roache). Spoilers hint on the potential death of Ragnar in the upcoming episode. Will the fans of "Vikings" bid goodbye to this beloved character soon?

In a recent interview with Aol Build, Travis Fimmel and Linus Roache revealed about the long conversation that will transpire between Ragnar and King Ecbert. The previous episode has begun featuring the lengthy conversation of Ragnar and King Ecbert where the former have asked the latter to hand him over to King Aelle (Ivan Kaye). Fans who are familiar with the history of Vikings know that Ragnar will die in the hands of King Aelle. Now that Ragnar has asked King Ecbert to hand him over to King Aelle, does it suggest the former's anticipated death?

The official trailer for episode 15 of "Vikings" season 4 titled "All His Angels" does not confirm yet the anticipated death of Ragnar based on history. Ragnar desires to die but King Ecbert opted not to kill him. Ragnar then requested King Ecbert to make a covenant to give Ivar, the former's disabled son, a safe entry back to Kattegat.

Ivar will then advise his brothers that their father was killed by King Aelle, and not King Ecbert. This suggests that when Ivar returns to take vengeance for their father's death, he and his brothers will attack King Aelle instead of King Ecbert.

If such is the case, this would mean that Ivar has agreed with the plan of Ragnar when he goes back to Kattegat. According to the synopsis, Ragnar and his disabled son Ivan will build a different level of understanding as they plot a scheme against the Saxons.

Inquisitr has noted that the scene from the trailer where Ragnar is seen head to head with his son Ivar could be teasing the former was already saying his goodbye to Ivar. This further confirms Ivar is returning to Kattegat.

Furthermore, another scene reveals King Aelle gave Ragnar a punch in the face, which confirms that Ragnar pursued to meet King Aelle and that King Ecbert has consented to Ragnar's plan.

"Vikings" season 4 episode 15 will air on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 9 p.m. on History Channel.
