'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 To Feature Stefan As Cade's New Servant; EP Julie Plec Teases Another Major ‘TVD’ Death

It seems that fans of "The Vampire Diaries" will need more tissues again as another death of a major character is about to follow the heartbreaking departure of Tyler Lockwood. Who could possibly meet his/her demise when "TVD" returns for season 8 next year?

In an interview with TVLine, executive producer Julie Plec was asked if Tyler will be the last major death that fans of "TVD" will witness before the show concludes on March 10. The executive producer simply responded with a "Nope." Unfortunately, Julie Plec could not give more details but she teased some descriptions like "terrible" and "painful" regarding the anticipated death.

The executive producer also talked about what fans of "TVD" can expect from Stefan (played by Paul Wesley) when the series returns next year. According to Julie Plec, fans can witness more of carnage from Stefan in 2017. The executive producer explained that Stefan's weakness is overcoming temptation when he is in ripper mode. His brother Damon (played by Ian Somerhalder) will have to regularly check on his brother to ensure Stefan remains on the good side. Julie Plec teased that once Stefan crosses the good side of his threshold, there is a high probability of losing him for eternity.

In the upcoming episode 8 of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 titled "We Have History Together," fans will see the two brothers will begin serving Cade (played by Wole Parks) together. Fans can recall that in the previous episode, Stefan made a deal with Cade to switch off his humanity side.

The synopsis details that Damon and Stefan will need to attend an anger management support group as their first scheme to get their new victim for Cade. Also, Damon and Stefan will test the morals of a young doctor as they continue to show their commitment to Cade.

Furthermore, the upcoming episode will feature Sybil (played by Nathalie Kelley) plotting something against Caroline (played by Candice King). The former will utilize a bunch of high school students as leverage to lure the latter to find a historical artifact, EconoTimes reported.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 8 will air on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 on The CW. Ian Somerhalder has directed this episode titled "We Have History Together."
