Actress Halle Berry and husband Olivier Martinez welcomed their first child, a baby boy, Saturday.
The 47-year-old actress announced the pregnancy in April and gave birth in the famous Cedars-Sinai Hospital. "Olivier hasn't left Halle's side. Nahla visited her baby brother earlier today," a source told People magazine.
Halle and Olivier were married in July in an extremely private affair at the French actor's homeland, Vallery. This is her second child. Halle is already mother to five-year-old daughter Nahla from her former boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.
Halle admitted that the pregnancy news came as a surprise to her. "This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth. Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it's been a big surprise and the most wonderful," she told CNN then.
Recently, while shooting for 'X-Men: Days of Future,' the actress said that her growing baby bump was a "constant challenge." "That kind of coloured what my involvement could be, which was why I was one of the first ones in and the first ones out. My ever-growing belly was posing a constant challenge! What I could do was getting more limited so the role that I play is so different from what it could have been, due to my surprise pregnancy," she said.
Apart from having a brief relation with Gabriel, Halle was married to David Justice in 1993 and singer Eric Benet in 2001. Olivier is also known for his relations with models and actresses such as Mira Sorvino, singer Kylie Minogue and English actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. He was also known as a womanizerin his younger days.
