Five-time Grammy winner and best-selling female artist of all time Mariah Carey just got even more honored. Carey has just recently received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, E! Online has learned.
According to a Daily Dish blog, Carey received the 2,556th star eight years after she was handed the accolade. Not only that, Carey received it with the "stars" of her life. Her four-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, were with her during the awarding ceremony.
The adorable twins, Carey's kids with ex Nick Cannon, wore cute matching white outfits while Carey wore a black gown accompanied with loose, blond curls and silver bangles.
Apart from her twins, Carey was also joined by long-time record producer, L.A. Reid, and Academy-Award-nominated director, Lee Daniels.
Daniels, who was Carey's close friend, was there to honor and congratulate her. Daniels took the podium and gave this message:
"She is the queen. She is the one. Her heart transcends her stardom..." referring to Carey. "I stopped everything I was doing to make sure I was here for you, because you always were there for me before I was 'Lee Daniels.' I'm so proud of you...," he said.
He even let an exciting detail slip about what's going to happen shortly in the future, saying, "Watch her on Empire, you guys. She's coming on Empire,"
Daniels, who directed Carey in 2009's "Precious" and 2008's "Tennessee," said the Fox music drama will have Mariah as a guest star for season two.
Fox has yet to give comments about the announcement..
Carey later admitted she was touched by Daniels' speech, and also by the remarks made by filmmaker pal Brett Ratner, record producer L.A. Reid and BET Programming President Stephen Hill.
Carey also thanked her fans, saying, "Really, you're melting my heart. You're making me cry, and that's why I'm keeping on my sunglasses. But I cannot thank you enough. This is a huge honor."
After the ceremony, Carey was warmly welcomed at a celebratory luncheon at the Roosevelt Hotel hosted by her long-time friend, Jeff Beacher, E! Online has learned.
A separate report from E! Online says that although Carey was formerly seen in a few episodes of "Real Husbands of Hollywood," "American Dad" and one episode of "Ally McBeal" in 2002, this will be Carey's first major TV appearance. So far, nothing is known about her role, but her coming to the series seems pretty exciting.
