Random Stabbing Attack At University Of Texas' Austin Campus Leaves One Dead, 3 Injured

A stabbing incident took place at the Austin campus of the University of Texas. The attack left one student dead and three others injured.

The police said the attacker is also a student at the university. The stabbing took place at around 1:50 p.m. on Monday and school officials immediately asked assistance from the police. When the authorities came, they saw the suspect walking away from the crime scene but they were able to arrest him with no incident as he did not resist the law enforcement officials.

Authorities identified the suspect as 21-year-old Kendrex J. White. According to the reports, he went to school "calmly" and did not cause any fuss until he started stabbing four people randomly. Cops noted that White had a large Bowie-style with him during the attack. Photos taken by witnesses also surfaced on the internet showing a knife holder on the suspect's waist.

All the victims are males and students at the said university. Police took the four victims to area hospitals as well as the man who died from the stabbing. It remained unclear who among the four victims was stabbed in the neck and stomach.

White attended the University of Texas as a junior who majors in Biology. The authorities said they do not know if White personally knew the victims and the motive remained unknown, Washington Post shared. Aside from the four stabbing victims, another University of Texas student Nidia Cavazos said that White kicked a sorority girl before the stabbing took place.

Due to the attack, the University of Texas' Austin campus canceled their classes and scheduled events for the day. White did not receive any charge yet as the investigation is ongoing.
