John Legend Sings The 'Stinky Booty' Song To His Daughter In Father's Day Ad

Pampers is celebrating this Sunday's Father's Day with a brand-new commercial that features musician John Legend singing the "Stinky Booty" to his young daughter.

'Stinky Booty'

Changing diapers is never an easy or glamorous task, but it needs to be done regardless. Celebrity parents are no exception when it comes to diaper duties and Legend proves that he too, cannot avoid the stinky task.

However, the songwriter makes the task enjoyable with a song he created, especially when he takes care of daughter Luna's stinky diapers. In partnership with Pampers Pure in which Legend's wife Chrissy Teigen is a creative consultant for the collection, the singer sings the song in a commercial that celebrates all dads out there.

"Somebody's got a stinky booty/Her name is Luna and she made a poopy/Somebody's got a stinky booty and daddy's gonna clean it up!" Legend sings in the ad and Luna giggles in response.

The 30-second commercial also features other fathers singing the catchy tune. Lifestyle photographer Jeff Mindell sings the song to son Arlo. Meanwhile, Glen Henry, founder of Beleaf in Fatherhood, beatboxes to the song as he plays around with his daughter while on diaper duty.

Behind-The-Song

Legend shared the ad on his Instagram page and revealed that he made the song because Luna is his best audience and biggest fan. Mindell also shared a brief backstory about the commercial on his Instagram, where he shared the clip and expressed his delight to have worked with the Grammy-winning musician.

"I have to say, keeping quiet about this one was tough, but if you told me a year ago that I would be in a @pamperspure campaign with the one and only @johnlegend, well you'd be crazy...BUT IT HAPPENED!!" Mindell wrote alongside the commercial.

"When we wrapped, I told Arlo that someday, I'm gonna look back and tell him about this special thing that we did together when he was really small," the photographer continued.

Mindell shared his gratitude to be a part of the Pampers Pure commercial. He also expressed his pride in being Arlo's dad.

Andre Schulten, P&G's North American vice president of BabyCare, said in a statement that they chose Legend to star in the Pamper Pure commercial because he embraces fatherhood. He loves being a dad and enjoys every moment of it.
