Texas: 30-year-old guy who attended a COVID party dies

There is no news yet whether there is a vaccine or cure to the life-threatening disease, coronavirus.

However, despite the worsening coronavirus update, there still are people who risk getting exposed to the virus in a COVID party or a corona party.

According to reports, a COVID party intends to prove that the coronavirus is a hoax.

Recently, several news agencies reported that a guy who attened a COVID party in Texas died. 

How is a coronavirus party held?

Methodist Healthcare Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jane Appleby, said in an interview with NEWS 4 that the COVID party is done to see if anyone will get infected with the virus.

The COVID party is held by someone who is diagnosed with the coronavirus. 

Health authorities have initially doubted reports about COVID parties. Previous reports remained unconfirmed. 

In an article from the New York Times, it said that the contact tracers of the San Antonio health department do not have information that a COVID party happened in Texas.

COVID party guy dies in Texas

In a video shared by Global News, Dr. Jane Applebee tells the story of a man they cared for at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

She said that the patient who was 30 years old shared with the nurse that he attended a COVID party.

Before the COVID party guy died, he uttered his regret to the attending nurse. The patient said, "I think I made a mistake. I thought this was a hoax, but it's not."

According to Dr. Applebee, even if health officials release the coronavirus updates, the COVID party guy diedbecause of something that could have been avoidable. The hospital did not release the patient's identity and the details of hospitalization.

Call for public cooperation after COVID party guy dies

Health experts like Dr. Applebee say that there is a way for people to avoid ending up in hospitals.

In the same video where the doctor narrated the unfortunate death of a COVID party attendee, Dr. Applebee also mentioned that the public should take the safety protocols seriously.

Although medical health workers are willing to assist those who are sick, they also wish that there will be not many people who would need their help.

Coronavirus update

In the latest coronavirus update, more than 3.9 million cases of COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the United States. As of July 23, around 143,000 have died due to the coronavirus.

Texas recently became one of the states with a sudden spike in the number of coronavirus cases.

In another coronavirus update, the positivity rate in the said state reached 22 percent.
