However, a particular gender-reveal party did not go so well.

The story about the party was shared on Reddit a week ago.

It was a party hosted by a 33-year-old dad and a 34-year-old mom who are having their second child. They already have a five-year-old daughter.

The dad shared the story because he asked if he is the asshole for walking out of a gender reveal party.

He left after the announcement that they are once again having a baby girl.

The dad's narration of the story began with the reason why his sister-in-law planned the gender reveal party. He said, "(The wife's) been grouchy her whole pregnancy, so her sister offered to plan her a gender reveal party."

Everything was running smoothly until the reveal itself. The dad said, "So flash forward to the day of the party, and the moment of truth comes, and the sparkler turns out to be pink for a girl."

The dad said he instantly felt very disappointed knowing that it was going to be a girl again. He explained that his disappointment came from several reasons.

The 33-year-old father said he was expecting to play baseball with his child and see him go camping. He also shared that he does not find much joy in dealing with his five-year-old daughter. He said, "The thought of having to double up now on the neuroticism was harrowing."

When all of these emotions filled the dad, he felt the need to leave. He walked out to his car and went to his sister's house.
