Florida Mom "On Drugs" Tries to Kidnap Neighbors' Babies, Caught on Ring Video

A Florida mom, Hannah Braun, broke into a home to kidnap a nine-month-old baby after leaving her infant at home, as reported by Fox 13 News. Thankfully, the scary incident was caught on the ring video at 2:15 in the morning. Moments earlier, she tried to kidnap Thelma Reynolds' one-year-old grandson. Elroy Reynolds, the father of the victim, said that early Tuesday morning, the 28-year-old woman tried to abduct his child.

Attempted to kidnap the babies

The St. Petersburg, Florida, woman rang Reynolds' door and tried to take the one-year-old child. She entered the home and said that she wanted the baby. She explained that she was taking care of babies in the area. 

A few moments after, she knocked at another neighbor's doors. A 12-year-old child, who was cradling the baby, came to the door to entertain the suspect. Braun allegedly searched for the family's baby.

Oxygen reports that the woman who attempted the kidnapping has left her two small children at home unattended, said by the Florida authorities.

The suspect was obviously "on drugs"

Reynolds was sure that Braun was on drugs based on her bizarre behavior. The illicit substances could have likely played an essential role in the woman's attempt to kidnap his baby after his older child let the woman in.

On Wednesday, he told Fox 13 News that the suspect was on something because she was yelling. When the child opened the door, Braun identified herself saying that she is "mama," then she stated her name "Hannah."

She said that she was there to get the baby because she is trying to protect the baby. At that moment, the deranged Florida mom tried to snatch the baby out of her 12-year-old sibling. Allegedly, Braun shoves the child trying to run off with the baby.

News Channel 8 reported that a spokeswoman for the St. Petersburg police said that Braun lives near the house of Reynolds. She also noted that the suspect was not acquainted with the family of the babies she tried to kidnap.

One of her children was afraid

After the authorities arrested Braun for her attempt of kidnapping, one of the two children that she has left behind showed their fears. The child said that she was frightened because she "lost her mommy."

The mother of the 12-year-old child and the baby, Amber, told News Channel 8 that she felt the same fear. She does not feel safe, so she does not want to live in that area anymore. She said that a random person could just come into your house and take your child from you is not a good feeling at all.

The Daily Mail reported that Braun has not cooperated with the investigation. The outlet said that apart from an attempted kidnapping, the authorities charged Braun with child abuse and assault or battery.

Other than that, they also charged her with two counts of neglect of a child without bodily harm. She is currently in jail and is on a bond of $145,000.
