In a viral video, Tiktok parents reveal how to avoid picky eaters at their home. The mom, Darin Nicole, shared the video that he made with her husband. 

The couple shared what they referred to as a parenting hack for parents who have picky eaters at home.

The viral video

The video started with a shot of the food on the table and then the mom asked the dad to explain what the meal means.

The dad explains that the food on the plate is dinner or midnight snack. The way it works is that the kids may or may not eat the food. However, the children cannot eat anything else but the food on the plate. Nicole said, "That's how it works in our house."

The video has been viewed thousands of times. It was shared over 8,000 times. There are also more than four hundred thousand people who liked the video.

How to avoid a picky eater?

According to the TikTok parents, every time they get an "I'm hungry," the kids will need to finish the food at the table before eating anything else. Even if the dinner turns out to be a late-night snack, it does not matter for the TikTok parents, as long as the kids only eat the food that they were served.

Although it sounds like there are only a few options for the kids, that is not the case. The kids are still allowed to eat cupcakes, cookies, and other food, but that is only when the plates are already empty.

According to the TikTok parents, it works for them that is why they thought of sharing the parenting hack to their followers.

Tips to parents on how to avoid picky eaters

There are several ways that parents use to avoid picky eaters or to encourage kids to eat healthier foods.

Another way that parents do is by including their kids in meal preparation. Some even bring their children to the supermarket so they get to see what food they are going to be at for the next days. Having children join meal preparations is also a great way to make them appreciate the food that they eat.

Another effective way that parents use is more focused on the attitude towards feeding children. Some experts say that parents need to be calm so that kids will not be stubborn and would be persuaded to eat the food which was prepared for them.
