Gender Reveal Gone Wrong: Dad Hurt Himself with a Party Popper [Viral Video]

A gender reveal goes wrong when a dad hurt himself with a party popper. What is worse is that he got whacked in the lap area.

The viral video now has more than 75,000 views.

Aside from the dad hurting himself with a party popper, the now-big sister cried when she realized that she is set to welcome a baby brother.

Preparing for the gender reveal

In the viral video, the dad and daughter are seen having a conversation.

The dad asked, "What do you think the baby is?" To which the daughter answered. "A girl."

Before the couple revealed the gender of the new addition to their family, they explained what the colors would mean. The mom is heard in the video's background saying that if the party popper explodes with pink decor, then it means they are welcoming a baby girl, and if it is the blue decor, then it is a baby boy.

Gender reveal goes wrong

After explaining the rules of the gender reveal, the little girl started counting down from three.

The dad struggled to pop the confetti. While he was still struggling, the mom already released blue balloons, which meant they would welcome a baby boy.

Although the baby's gender was already revealed, the dad continued to try to pop the confetti. He is heard asking, "How does this work?"

He reversed the tube, which he, later on, regrets because when the confetti popped, it hit his lap area.

Because of the pressure from the party popper, the dad hurt himself and hurled in pain.

His little girl, not yet realizing the gender of their baby, laughed at what happened to his dad.

The little girl is disappointed

When the dad was able to recover from hurting himself with the party popper, he confirmed with his daughter if she knew what the blue balloons and blue confetti meant.

When the young girl's mom and dad said they were having a baby boy, the now-big sister started to cry.

She said, "Why? I didn't want a boy!" Tears were running down her face while still holding the pile of blue balloons.

In the video, the little girl receives a hug from her mom while she continues to cry over the fact that she will be a big sister to a baby boy.

The viral video

The recently-uploaded video was shared by Gemma Bayliffe Newby on YouTube.

The caption of the video was, "How wrong could a gender reveal go?" In the description section, she also said, "From start to finish, everything that could go wrong definitely did. Watch until the end!"

Last year, another viral video circulated online. The same thing happened with the dad in the video. However, the difference is that the dad from Massachusetts fired a powder cannon the wrong way.
