Blake Shelton on Being a Stepdad to Gwen Stefani's Children: "There's Definitely Nothing Easy About it."

Blake Shelton says that being a stepdad to Gwen Stefani's children is nothing easy.

In a recent interview, the country singer shared that since the start of their romance in 2015, there have been quite some responsibilities to Gwen Stefani's children.

Blake Shelton, who is also a The Voice star, is recently engaged with Gwen Stefani. Once the two are married, Blake will officially be the stepdad of Stefani's three kids.

Blake Shelton on becoming a stepdad

In the radio show, The Ride with Kimo and Heather, the country singer shared his journey as a stepdad and how it is not easy, "I don't know if it's as hard or harder or not as hard as being an actual biological parent, you know?"

However, Blake Shelton said that he finds this challenge as something he knows what to do. That is because he believes his stepfather is an excellent role model to follow.

He said in his interview, "I love my stepfather, and I looked up to him. And he's like a father to me." He also added that his stepfather is the kind of stepdad that he wants to be.

Blake's relationship with Gwen Stafani's kids

Although the country singer is serious about his family, he says he still knows how to have fun with Gwen's children.

 Now that Blake and Gwen have been in a relationship for five years, Blake can no longer imagine life without Gwen Stefani's kids, "I'm not gonna lie. I don't take it so serious that I'm not enjoying this time because I really am."

Gwen Stefani's three kids

Gwen was previously in a relationship with Gavin Rossdale. Since they split in 2015, they have been co-parenting with their three kids, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. Kingston is already 14 years old, Zuma is twelve, and Apollo is six years old.

Gwen and Blake's love story

The Voice Coaches announced their engagement in October. Before being engaged, Stefani shared that she has thought about where their relationship will be heading.

She shared in one of her interviews, "I gotta tell you, and I was sorta like, 'What's happening with us? It was kind of in my mind like, 'We've been together a long time now. What's going on?'"

Although they have been together for quite some time, they do not want to have a wedding during the pandemic. That is the reason why the couple's engagement keeps on getting dragged longer.

Before being in a relationship, both Blake and Gwen have been through their respective divorces. Stefani was married to Rossdale. Shelton, on the other hand, was previously married to country superstar Miranda Lambert.
