NFL player Patrick Mahomes and his fiancee, Britanny Matthews, welcome their first baby.

In a recent social media post, the couple shared that they welcomed their newborn baby girl, Sterling Skye Mahomes, last February 20.

The couple has since been receiving congratulatory messages from friends and fans.

On their Instagram accounts, Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews shared a photo of their baby girl holding one parent's finger.

The couple both captioned their photos with "Sterling Skye Mahomes. 2/20/21"

Matthews, however, added the weight of their newborn baby. According to the post, their baby weighed 6lbs 11oz.

The couple, who has been dating since their teenage years, got engaged last year in September. In that same month, the couple announced their pregnancy to the first baby.

A month after their pregnancy announcement and engagement, Mahomes and Matthews revealed the gender of their baby in October.

The couple also shared that they are taking the wedding plans slowly and that this would mean a detour before their special wedding day.

Before welcoming the newborn baby girl

Before their baby was born, the NFL player, Mahomes, shared how excited he is to welcome their baby.

In an interview, the football star shared that he is not even particular about the gender of their baby as long as he or she is healthy. He added that he is only excited about loving their baby for the rest of his life.

According to the Kansas City Chiefs player, although 2020 is filled with uncertainties, being engaged and receiving the news that they were expecting are the two best things that happened to him. He said, "Being able to be a dad and being able to get married here soon, I'm truly thankful for that."

After posting on both their Instagram accounts, the couple has received a lot of congratulatory messages from family, friends, and even fans.

On Brittany's Instagram, one fan said, "We have a Princess in the Chiefs Kingdom! Congrats, Brittany & Patrick." Another IG user said, "Congratulations Brittany and Patrick! Welcome to the most humbling, rewarding, and heart-expanding adventure of your lifetimes!"

In Patrick's account, his brother left a comment, "YOU WILL BE THE BEST DAD!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR ALL THE ADVENTURES!!" A fan also said, "Y'all are gonna be the BEST parents! So happy!"

Other netizens also commended the name that the couple gave to their baby. One netizen said, "Best name in the world! Congrats!"

Since its posting, the post of Mahomes has already reached more than 1.1 million likes.
