Herbs and Spices Are Now Baby Names [List of Unique Names]

According to an article by HuffPost, there are 21 names from herbs and spices that parents use for their newborn babies since 2019. This list was from the data from the Social Security Administration.

Most chosen herbs and spices baby names

In the list that HuffPost created, some of the names parents extensively used in the United States.

Among the baby girls, one of the most famous names is Jasmine, Angelica, and Rosemary. Also included in the most used baby names is Juniper, which is used for girls and boys. Sage is also a popular choice among parents. 

Here are the number of times parents chose these names in 2019:

  • Jasmine - 2092 girls
  • Rosemary - 760 girls
  • Angelica - 508 girls
  • Juniper - 22 boys, 1526 girls
  • Sage - 666 boys and 1164 girls

Other herbs and spices names

If you are thinking of giving your baby a unique name or maybe an unconventional middle name, here are other herbs and spices names that made it to the Social Security Administration list.

Basil was named to 71 boys and 28 girls in the United States. Also, six boys were named Thyme by their parents. Around 26 girls got the name Saffron in 2019.

Aside from these names, there were ten girls born in 2019 who were named Anise.

Some parents also chose names like Ginger and Pepper. There were 57 girls named Ginger and 144 girls who are now named Pepper.
