Easter is probably one of the most favorite times of the year of kids. The Easter egg hunts and jelly beans are two activities that make Easter an enjoyable time of the year.

Jellybean holiday is easy to explain to kids. However, for some parents, knowing how to explain Easter to children can be quite a challenge. Whether we admit it or not, the Biblical Easter story is quite terrifying.

Most children see Jesus as the man who taught about love and heaven. According to an article from Mom.com, explaining the idea that there is someone who wants to kill a friendly man like Jesus is difficult.

That is why there are easier ways on how to explain Easter to children. Here are some of those:

Talk about the resurrection.

Instead of talking about how someone wanted to kill Jesus, parents may try to start talking to children about the positive parts. These parts include life after death. Although Jesus died and it was really sad, he came back again. This way he was able to prove that he was God's son. Focusing on this aspect of his journey instead of the sufferings can be easier to share with children.

Tell the kids that it is okay to be sad

It has been established that Jesus' death is a sad part of the story, but even if this is the case, his death should not be skipped altogether.

Parents will eventually encounter questions from their children about his death. These questions will also include the details of how he died and why he had to suffer. When this happens, parents should try to teach their children that sadness is okay, but they have to deal with it.

Eventually, there will be more painful encounters in life that children will face, teaching them the process of dealing with it will be a big help.

Put Easter into context

Sometimes, things are difficult to explain when they are not in context. Providing children with a cropped photo of what Christ's journey is will not do the job. The best thing to do here is to involve the children in church. If they will understand the entire Lent, then they will also learn and understand Easter Sunday in the Biblical context.

Try showing them the musical, "Jesus Christ Superstar"

Since a musical can be both a form of entertainment and learning, teaching kids about crucifixion can be done through this.

It doesn't necessarily have to be "Jesus Christ Superstar." There can be other options of musicals that talk about Easter or Jesus.

When parents use musicals, it will not be as intense as explaining it t them through straightforward stories. This way, it will not be very terrifying.
