Alyssa Milano's Breastfeeding Controversy: Debate With Talk Show Host Wendy Williams About Public Breastfeeding [VIDEO]

"Charmed" actress and breastfeeding advocate Alyssa Milano had a debate with the host of The Wendy Williams Show last Wednesday. The two stars clashed about Alyssa Milano's breastfeeding pictures posted by the actress on her social media accounts. The actress' pictures have become viral.

Talk show host Wendy Williams explained to Milano that she does not need to see the actress' breastfeeding sessions with her child and that she would have preferred if the actress breastfeeds her child privately.

When the actress asked the host why she feels that way about public breastfeeding, Williams replied by saying "I don't know why I feel this way. Breastfeeding is only a particular amount of time. The rest of your life, your breasts are sexual things."

"Biologically they're not made for sexual things, that's what we've done to them," the 43-year-old "Melrose Place" actress replied to the host.

Alyssa Milano is married to Creative Artists Agency  agent David Bugliari and has two children -  son Milo and daughter Elizabella.

The actress recently told Yahoo Parenting about her views on public breastfeeding. "I just don't understand where we are as a society when you can be naked on a red carpet, but it's not ok in the corner of the mall while you are breastfeeding your child," the actress explained. "We've sexualized the female body so much that we forget that it has a real function - to feed our babies."

Alyssa Milano's breastfeeding controversy and her fight for the right of all mothers to nurse their children in public has inspired and encouraged many women, "Women in general need to learn to find their voices and be advocates for their children. I feel very privileged to be a part of the mommyhood club, it's the coolest club you can be in," she said.
