Tyra Banks Is Now A Mom To Miracle Baby York Banks Asla

The joys of parenthood were finally felt by supermodel Tyra Banks when she got to carry Yorks Banks Asla in her arms. The 42-year old former host of America's Next Top Model considers her son a "miracle baby."

The rep of the supermodel confirmed to People that Tyra and her Norwegian boyfriend Erik Asla are now parents of York Banks Asla, whom they have via gestational surrogate. Tyra's gratitude to the woman who carried her baby to term was made public in a message she wrote, describing her as an "angel."

Yahoo News reported that it was no secret that Tyra has been struggling with fertility problems and has longed for a child for years. She described her struggles in a statement, "I've had some not happy moments with that, very traumatic moments." She further added, "It's difficult as you get older. It's not something that can just happen."

Tyra had hoped to conceive and even underwent IVF procedures. In an interview, she openly expressed her frustration at having turned 40 yet without any kids. One can simply imagine that joy she felt while she was waiting for the birth of her son.

When York was finally born, Tyra immediately took to Instagram and posted a picture of a baby hat with this caption: "The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here. He's got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik's mouth and chin. As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world."

Everybody can expect that Tyra's baby boy will have all the care and love in the world that she and Erik can give. Tyra is an inspiration to all women who struggle with fertility problems.
