8 Things You Previously Hate, But Did It Anyway When You Became a Mother

You can often hear a lot of mothers saying that their perspectives in life changed when they became mothers. But aside from changes in the way a woman perceive things, there are certain things that you might have hated before you became a mother, but which you now so happily do.

Parents has defined some of the things that you were not told about motherhood. These things include stuff you previously hate, yet you now love to do as a mother.

You're practicing to audition for American Idol on a daily basis.

Yes, you might not have noticed it, but you are singing your heart out every time you feed or bathe your baby. Your shyness was thrown out the window, and the voice that you didn't know existed now fills your house every day. And, whenever your baby smiles, you're given the encouragement to practice all over again. Good thing, your husband is very supportive of you.

Dying for a minivan

What used to be a boring and underappreciated car now seems to be the best option for you. As your baby grows, you just found yourself wishing for a minivan every single day.

Baby #1 has become baby #2

Oh well, life is a cycle. Your pet dog or cat has become second priority. If you used to feel guilty about not having given your pet a bath, now, you won't. Your screaming baby is always the number 1 priority.

You're starting to love the mess.

If you used to clean the living room whenever you see a small speck of dust, now you seem not to mind the toys, food, and diapers scattered all around. Instead of getting angry, it makes you smile to realize that your baby is developing fantastically. Hmmm... Motherhood really changes you, right?

You feel sympathetic towards other mothers.

You used to say "uugghhhh" when you are on a plane seated beside a mom and a screaming baby. Now that you're a mom, you just want other mothers to know that you understand their situation, and you get to smile encouragingly at the mom who tries so hard to quiet down her crying baby.

You momentarily said goodbye to your fashion sense.

When you're breastfeeding, and even if not, and you have a small baby in tow, you won't look at those Chanel boots and Calvin Klein skirts anymore. Instead, you will see those feet-friendly sneakers as your best friend, complete with nice looking skinny jeans, and a very comfortable top.

You're okay even if you missed your daily workout routine.

Before you became a mom, you chastised yourself every time you missed a day without working out. Now that your baby is demanding your attention, daily workout routines become a Herculean task. Worse, you're okay with missing it.

A salon pedicure becomes your "vacation."

Before, you thought of a salon pedicure as a regular habit. But when your little baby came, you found out that you can't even do that. So when you finally got to have that much coveted pedicure, you felt like you're in heaven.

According to Life Hacker, when you become a mother, you get to be surprised every day. It's not only your baby who surprises you, but you find out that your baby has changed you a lot. You get to do things that you never thought you would do. And the best part of it all, you get to love every single thing that you change for the sake of your baby.
