'Captain America: Civil War' Trailer Reaches 100 Million Views in 24 Hours; Black Widow Avenges Hawkeye?

The newest trailer for "Captain America: Civil War" was just released and it has driven fans into a frenzy. Thanks to Spider-Man's introduction in the latest trailer, the Marvel film was able to garner almost 100 million views in just 24 hours.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the YouTube count exclusively accounted for over 22 million as of Friday afternoon. Another addition to the whopping 94.7 million in 24 hours is the UK Marvel YouTube account, which attributed 1.9 million views.

Meanwhile, the English-based Facebook page of Marvel produced 17.1 million views. In addition, the sole Facebook page of "Captain America" garnered 17 million views.

Although Marvel's video on Twitter doesn't count for views, it has already gotten 16,346 retweets and 15,178 likes as of writing. As it turns out, the figures from the "Captain America: Civil War" trailer have succeeded the previous record holder.

Previously holding the title was fellow Marvel franchise, "Avengers: Age of Ultron," which had a total of 34.4 million views within 24 hours. Since the release of the latest "Captain America: Civil War" trailer, several theories have been going around, speculating who could be killed off in the latest "Captain America" franchise.

Stating several various reasons regarding the possibility of Hawkeye's death, Trevor Norkey of MoviePilot reports that the lack of exposure given to Jeremy Renner's beloved Marvel character could indicate and imminent death.

Furthermore, the publication notes a very tense situation between Black Widow and Iron Man, which was revealed in the trailer. Theories claim that Hawkeye's death could prompts the argument between the two "Avengers," which ultimately leads to Black Widow's decision to leave #TeamIronMan.

"Captain America: Civil War" runs 2 hours and 27 minutes, making it the longest run time for a Marvel Studios film. The latest "Captain America" sequel stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd and Tom Holland as Spider-Man.
