Most children, especially boys, love superheroes. Some superheroes are more suitable for teens and adults such as Black Widow, Deadpool and Wolverine while some are kid-friendly superheroes. These fictional characters can serve as great superhero role models for children.

1. Superman

Superman is definitely one of the most kid-friendly superheroes in history. He is a wholesome character that does what is good simply because it is what is right.

Superman can choose to use his superpowers to be rich and famous but he chooses to help those in need on a daily basis instead. Superman will appear next on the hotly-anticipated movie, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", a movie about Henry Cavill's "Man of Steel" against Ben Affleck's "Batman."

2. Spider-Man

This quote has become synonymous with the character: "With great power comes great responsibility." Your children will never have Spider-Man's powers but they will have their own set of abilities, skills and talents that they will also have to learn how to utilize.

The character has been played by actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the past. The beloved character is set to be played by actor Tom Holland in "Captain America: Civil War."

3. Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman will make her big screen debut in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," played by actress Gal Gadot. Aside from her appearance in "Dawn of Justice," Gal Gadot will also be starring in her own film, likewise titled "Wonder Woman," which is set for a June 2017 release date, as per IMDB.

4. Captain America

Like Superman, Captain America is also one of the most wholesome superheroes in the world. Captain America is a fearless leader who is willing to give his all in order to protect humanity from super villains and terrorists.

His love for country and his fellow man can serve as an inspiration for children. The character is famously played by Chris Evans and is set to fight Iron Man -- played by Robert Downey Jr. -- in "Captain America: Civil War."

5. Professor X

Professor X is one of the best superhero role models for kids. This kid-friendly superhero has been played by beloved actors such as Patrick Stewart in the original "X-Men" films and James McAvoy for its prequel series.

McAvoy is set to reprise his role in "X-Men: Apocalypse." Despite being paralyzed from the waist down, Professor X continues to dedicate his life protecting humans who hate and fear his kind while keeping in tune with what best for the common good.
