1.   Crib

The crib is quite costly but it doesn't matter if it is for your baby. Hence, you must choose a crib that meets the standards such as having a mattress that is tight-fitting and firm, no drop-side, and the corner post must not be higher by 1/16 inches, the slats are not wider than 2 3/8 inches apart and there must be no cut outs in the footboard or headboard.

2.  Crib Mattress

Other important baby essentials include the crib mattress. This must be lightest yet firmest. The crib mattress must fit tightly with less than two fingers width between the edges of the crib side and the mattress, according to the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA).

3.   Diapering Supplies

Baby essentials such as diapers may vary. They may be in disposable or cloth. If you choose cloth, you must have at least three dozens of diapers. These baby essentials must be washed thoroughly to avoid rashes. If you choose the disposable ones, you must have sufficient supply for a week but don't buy several packs because your baby grows faster and the sizes change.

4.  Baby Monitor

These baby essentials can monitor your baby wherever he is. You must buy a baby monitor with two receivers. You can put one receiver in your bedroom and the other one in the kitchen. There are also monitors that can check two rooms.

5.    Baby Clothes

Baby clothes are baby essentials that must be readied before your baby arrives. These must be in cotton so it can protect your baby from the heat of the sun and retain your baby's body heat. These baby essentials include T-shirts, gowns, sweatpants and sleepers among others. You may also provide socks to protect your baby in colder months.
