Teenager Mortified When Parents Show Up At High School Dance

A 9th grader screamed in horror when her parents showed up during her high school dance. The act, according to the girl's mom and dad, was just their way to check on their child.

Daily Mail reported that couple Judd and Kristen Bagley from Salt Lake City, Utah, went to the high school dance of their 14-year-old daughter, Beth, though she made it clear that she did not one a chaperone. "We respected her wishes but decided to drop in and see what she was up to," the father said.

However, the parents did not expect an extreme reaction from their daughter who threw her hands and screamed when she saw her mom and dad.

"Get out! No! No!'" Beth can be heard screaming in the video below. She then grabbed the camera from her dad's hands.

The video, which was uploaded on YouTube by Judd, has gained more than 500,000 views. Daily Mail said one netizen even asked the father if their daughter was able to get over the incident.

The footage has now gone viral, with nearly 500,000 YouTube viewers. "She loves attention. She's having fun," Judd answered.

According to Teen Vogue, the video was a funny incident that even mom Kristen was laughing her heart out in the video. It also noted that almost all teenagers have gone through this stage because sometimes parents "just don't understand."

But to his defense, Judd said in the Daily Mail report that they did not intend to embarrass their daughter. "We have a great relationship, based on a long-running joke of pretending to be embarrassed by each other." He also clarified that Beth was not angry with them.

"She wasn't mad, she was just really, really playing it up," the father noted. "We knew she would create a bit of scene because that's her sense of humor, but we didn't expect her to do what she did.'
