Man who killed Usher's 11-year-old step son sentenced to four years in prison

The man responsible for killing Usher's 11-year-old step son was sentenced to four years in prison last Tuesday, according to reports.

Just last month, a jury found Jeffrey Simon Hubbard guilty of homicide by vessel as a result of a 2012 Jet Ski collision that took the life of Kile Glover and injured a 15-year old girl.

Hubbard was also found guilty of serious injury by vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft and boat traffic violation.

Kile is the son of Usher's former wife, Tameka Foster and TV executive Ryan Glover. He was on an inner tube with a friend when he was run over by Hubbard, who was on a personal watercraft, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Following Hubbard's release from prison, he will spend 15 years on probation for operating the watercraft in a "foolish" manner, as how Hall County Superior Court Judge Bonnie Oliver called it.

"I'm disappointed that you have not accepted more responsibility for what occurred," said Oliver. Although Hubbard and his father wanted to express an apology at the time of the accident, they were advised by their counsel not to do so.

His father, Simon Hubbard, told Channel 2 Action News in an interview: "He's been remorseful from day one. It's been a nightmare for him for the past two years, and it's probably going to be indelibly etched in his mind for the rest of his life."

Kile was critically injured in the incident and was unresponsive when he was pulled from the lake. He never regained consciousness. Two weeks after the accident, he died from brain injuries.

Hubbard was arrested on March 1 of last year after he was indicted by a grand jury. His defense lawyers claimed that he tried to avoid Kile and his friend - who also suffered from serious injuries.
