Pennywise The Clown: Will Bill Skarsgard And Director Andy Muschietti Make The Stephen King 'It' Reboot More Terrifying?

The film adaptation of Stephen King's "It" has finally scored some fitting additions. "Hemlock Grove" star Bill Skarsgard has just been confirmed as Pennywise the Dancing Clown while "Mama" director Andy Muschietti will helm the horror movie. But will Bill Skarsgard and Andy Muschietti make the "It" adaptation even more terrifying than Stephen King's novel?

Will Bill Skarsgard Be A Scarier Pennywise Than Tim Curry?

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard will take on the role of Pennywise the Dancing Clown after "Maze Runner" star Will Poulter left "It." This is undoubtedly a difficult role to fill since the legendary Tim Curry portrayed the clown in the "It" TV adaptation in the 90's. But can Bill Skarsgard do justice to Tim Curry's character that may have once caused mass coulrophobia?

Bill Skarsgard has already proven he can handle the supernatural in "Hemlock Grove" and he does come from a family known for taking on unusual acting roles (brother Alexander played Eric Northman in "True Blood" while father Stellan is Eric Solveig from the "Thor" films). Bill Skarsgard certainly has the looks and the talent to make an excellent Pennywise, but he will probably need some help from a gifted director.

Is Andy Muschietti The Perfect Director For "It?"

Anyone who has seen "Mama" would be quick to declare that it is one of the scariest films, although it is only second to the Andy Muschietti's original short film of the same name. "It" could definitely use Andy Muschietti's vision if the adaptation of Stephen King's novel wants to terrify new audiences. In addition to Bill Skarsgard and Andy Muschietti, the "It" remake will feature another promising young talent.

"Midnight Special" Star Jaeden Lieberher Joins "It" As Losers' Club Leader

According to Variety, "It" had also found the young members of the Losers' Club. The Losers' Club consists of Jaeden Lieberher as Bill Denbrough, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben Hanscom, Fill Wolfhard as Richie Tozier, Wyatt Oleff as Eddie Kaspbrak, Chosen Jacobs as Mike Hanlon, and Jack Dylan Grazer as Stan Uris. There is no word yet on who will play the Losers' Club's only female member Bev Marsh.
