Two Abortions at 16: Chelsea Handler Opens Up About Her Abortion Chronicles

One of the best comedians, Chelsea Handler opened up about having multiple abortions at a young age. Despite going through such struggle at the age of 16, Chelsea Handler mentioned that having an abortion is something that she didn't regret up to this date.

Abortion is such a sensitive issue that most government institutions would take a while in having it legalized. As of the recent heated issue on abortion, NY Times released a report on the Supreme Court's decision in striking down Texas' abortion restrictions. With the decision ended up with a 3 to 5 vote, wherein it was highlighted that most abortion clinics in Texas would eventually have to close.

Though abortion may be something that most individual would shy away, Chelsea handler openly shared her abortion chronicles. During her interview with Playboy, the comedian mentioned that she got pregnant at 16, thus her parents took her to Planned Parenthood to get an abortion.

According to Chelsea Handler, getting an abortion was not her first option as she first thought of keeping the baby. She then added that she had minimal adult supervision, the she ended up with unexpected pregnancy.

Chelsea Handler continued her narration stating that her parents' decision for her to have an abortion when she was 16 was the best parenting decision they made for her. She then added that fate took its toll as she got pregnant once again just less than a year after having an abortion.

During her second pregnancy however, her parents no longer supported her, thus she needed to come up with the money on her own. She came up with $230, which is the amount needed and proceeded with having the baby removed. She ended her statement saying that she may have had two abortions at a tender age, but it is something she never regrets.

"We have 7.3 billion people on this planet," Chelsea noted. "Anybody who carefully decides not to become a parent-let alone a bad parent, which is what I would have become-should be applauded for making a smart and sustainable decision. I'd love for somebody to try to tell me what to do with my body. I dare them."
