'Arrow' Season 5 News: Will Oliver and Felicity Call It Quits? Stephen Amell Talks About the Storyline

"Arrow" will soon make a comeback as the series preps for the 5th season. During the casts' interview for Comic-Con 2016, Stephen Amell dished out a few details as to what could fans could expect. He also mentioned that flashbacks are bound to happen after the series' 5th season.

"Arrow" season 5 is fast approaching and fans are eager to know what's bound to happen next. During the last season, it was already highlighted that Oliver will be all over Russia. As the storyline progressed, it was also revealed that his connection with Bratva will be revealed, and as well as their fate.

Stephen Amell shared a few details during the Comic-Con 2016. He dished out that the 5th season may be a series of flashbacks for fans to fully understand how the entire series came about. Stephen Amell then made it clear that the 5th season will likely be the least season for flashbacks, ScreenRant reports.

"This is probably the last year of the flashbacks," Stephen Amell said. "Which means that we have a lot to accomplish. Which means that the impetus and the through line of the flashbacks will, I think, have a lot more urgency to them."

As fans anxiously wait for the upcoming series, Ecumenical News cited that Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickard) may eventually flourish, but it was not yet explained if they'll go through a rocky patch. Fans will also get to see new recruits including Evelyn Sharp (Madison McLaughlin), Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez), and Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum.)

"There will be more standalone episodes this season," the showrunner, Wendy Mericle said in a roundtable interview mentioned by EW. "We are looking to go deeper into the bench of villains from the DC universe."
