NBA Trade Rumors: Greg Monroe Wants To Team Up With Anthony Davis And Play For New Orleans Pelicans?

Greg Monroe is one of the favorite players associated with NBA trade rumors. According to recent reports, New Orleans is also interested in getting the Bucks' center and power forward to strengthen their grip on their next NBA title.

According to the Bird Writes, the talks of Greg Monroe joining the New Orleans Pelicans have been around for quite a while now. Monroe himself has made it known that he wants to return to the Crescent City and play alongside Anthony Davis.

The reports of Greg Monroe joining the Pelicans to team up with Anthony Davis comes back to life following ESPN Marc Stein's statement. Many believe that Monroe can help Davis at the center but that Davis might be left cleaning Monroe's deficiencies. Davis is the ideal power forward to pair with Monroe but we can't tell if the same logic applies otherwise.

The next concern is, is Anthony Davis staying with the Pelicans? There are rumors that the super team is eyeing the New Orleans' power forward and center player. Parent Herald previously reported that the Golden State Warriors is considering on trading Draymond Green for Pelicans' Davis.

Meanwhile, it is still uncertain if Greg Monroe will be joining New Orleans Pelicans until the team signs him in. On the other hand, Matt Moore of CBS Sports thinks that Monroe would be a great deal to Celtics.

"The Celtics always want that big-name player without having to actually give up anyone of consequence, and if the Bucks just want to move on, this isn't a bad option," Moore said per Celtic Blog. "Brad Stevens was able to make Kelly Olynyk into a plus defender last season, and Monroe is at least as talented as Olynyk."

However, not everyone agrees that adding Greg Monroe in Celtics' lineup is an advantage. "Sure he'll give you close to a potential double-double every night, but his weaknesses won't allow him to do that for you in a playoff setting consistently." Also, he will definitely not fit the bill.
