NBA Trade Rumors: Anthony Davis Approves Of His Possible Tandem With Greg Monroe For New Orleans Pelicans?

There is no doubt that many are interested in the jersey Greg Monroe will be wearing in the next NBA season. According to reports, the Milwaukee Bucks power forward wants to team up with New Orleans Pelicans' Anthony Davis. There are rumors that the latter will likely agree.

Parent Herald previously reported that Greg Monroe wants to return to the Crescent City. The center and power forward of the Milwaukee Bucks is a native of New Orleans and he wants to pair with Anthony Davis in the next NBA season.

This report springs from ESPN's Marc Stein's statement who suggested that Greg Monroe is likely to choose the Pelicans over the other NBA teams wooing him. "The Bucks are still looking to find a taker for Greg Monroe and it sounds like they've spoken to the Pelicans about him this offseason. 'I think [the Bucks] got closer than maybe has been reported with New Orleans during either the draft or free agency'," said Zach Lowe.

"Monroe's a New Orleans native," Marc Stein added. "I think that's where he wants to end up."

Yibada added that Anthony Davis will likely agree with this proposition. The New Orleans Pelicans can trade for Greg Monroe at the right price because he is the best frontcourt partner for Davis. However, if things don't work out well in this NBA season, Monroe could be a free agent and leave according to his will via the player option.

Although seeing Anthony Davis and Greg Monroe's tandem is something to look forward to in the next NBA season, this might be unlikely. Per Sports Illustrated, Greg Monroe already turned down bigger franchises, including New York Knicks and Los Angeles to stay with the Bucks.
