Kevin Durant's departure in Oklahoma City Thunder is a huge loss for the team. Russell Westbrook and Durant's tandem deliver the Thunder several victories. According to reports, OKC is now desperate to find another great player to pair with their point guard.
Many NBA fans were concerned about the OKC's future when Kevin Durant left. Russell Westbrook was left with a year contract and could leave the Thunder as well. However, Westbrook signed a contract extension with the Thunder ending speculations that he will be leaving Oklahoma City too.
"There's nowhere else I would rather be than Oklahoma City," Russell Westbrook said in a conference per ESPN. The five-time NBA All-Star was filled with gratitude to OKC for raising his NBA career and he will return it with his loyalty.
In return for Russell Westbrook's loyalty, Thunder wants him to have the best partner in the basketball court. OKC wants to tighten their grip on their next NBA title by signing more talented players to back up their power guard.
According to Inquistr, OKC Thunder is prepping to get a number of replacements for Kevin Durant. Based on the NBA rumors, the team is getting Utah Jazz's small forward Gordon Hayward and Atlanta Hawks' forward Paul Millsap.
There are rumors that these players are on the Thunder's radar for the next NBA offseason. Although Gordon Hayward and Paul Millsap are not Kevin Durant, they are ample replacement for the NBA All-Star who just joined the Golden State Warriors.
Meanwhile, aside from Paul Millsap and Gordon Hayward, Parent Herald previously reported that the Thunder is also considering Blake Griffin. In fact, there are rumors that Griffin and Russell Westbrook partnership will be better than the Westbrook-Durant that the OKC has been boasting in the past NBA season.
Who do you think will the Thunder get to work with Russell Westbrook in the next NBA season? Is it possible for the OKC to acquire Paul Millsap, Gordon Hayward and Blake Griffin altogether? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
