NBA Latest News Update: Stephen Jackson Making A Comeback, Claims Rajon Rondo, Jimmy Butler Wants Him In Chicago Bulls

NBA team Chicago Bulls is still trying to complete their roster for the 2016-2017 NBA season and new reports have surfaced claiming that veteran Stephen Jackson will be part of the team. According to reports, Jackson said that Rajon Rondo and Jimmy Butler want him to be part of the Chicago Bulls.

The NBA veteran might just make a comeback if the rumors are true that he will be playing for Chicago Bulls. The 38-year-old NBA player has been out of the league for the last two season and he said in a recent statement that Butler and Rondo expressed that they want him to play for the Chicago Bulls. According to Sportsrageous, he claimed that they contacted him about signing with Chicago Bulls.

Part of Jackson's statement reads: "Well, actually not a lot of people know that Jimmy has been calling me. We've been talking for like three months now. Even [Rajon] Rondo has been calling me, they really want me on the Bulls team." Jackson added that not only Rondo and Jackson are talking to him as he has been in contact with others because "guys know what I bring." He said that there are not many players like him and there are only around one or two guys in the league who is like him and can play both ways, Hoops Hype reported. He added that Tim Duncan called him the ultimate teammate so he knows that he can bring a lot in the table and play great for the guys playing alongside him.

It is unclear what other teams or who else is calling him to be part of the 2016-2017 NBA season. Jackson did say, however, that he spoke to Steve Kerr, the coach of Golden State Warriors. He and Kerr won a championship together in 2003. He said that he is not yet sure which team he will be part of but he is willing to try out to show his skills.

Jackson also talked about playing for the New York Knicks as he praised Carmela Anthony, Kristaps Porzingis and Joakim Noah.

Jackson announced his retirement from basketball a year ago and lase played in the NBA in January 2014. He has played for the NBA for 14 years and has not suffered serious injuries and did not undergo surgeries. He last played for the Los Angeles Clippers.

He pointed out that he enjoys his ESPN gig but realized he wants to play more basketball. He has two more years to play and he said that he started working out again seven months ago.

If Jackson will be part of the Chicago Bulls, he could play alongside Butler at the small forward position or with Dwayne Wade for the shooting guard position.
