‘American Horror Story' Season 6 Release Date, News & Update: FX Misdirects With ‘AHS’ Trailers Boss Reveals? Can S6 Beat ‘Coven’ As Best Season?

"American Horror Story" Season 6 is releasing a feast of trailers that are, all but one, misdirections for "AHS" fans. The "American Horror Story" series, however, is in need of another good run and "AHS" Season 6 could hopefully beat out S3 "Coven" as the best in the Ryan Murphy creation.

As freaky as the recent burst of trailer releases from FX has been, "AHS" fans should watch out from being misdirected about what is really going on in "American Horror Story" Season 6. E! News reports that FX president John Landgraf revealed that he, Ryan Murphy and Stephanie Gibbons have been purposely misleading fans on the real theme of "American Horror Story" Season 6.

  That is not to say that all the "American Horror Story" Season 6 are duds. John Landgraf, Ryan Murphy and Stephanie Gibbons knew enough to hide a real "American Horror Story" Season 6 trailer among all the fake ones to keep "AHS" fans on their toes.

"They went out and made many more trailers than you've actually seen for...different genres and different places," John Landgraf said. "One of them is accurate, the others are all misdirects."

At latest tally, theme guesses for "American Horror Story" Season 6 include the antichrist son of Tate Langdon (Evan Peters), the return of Jessica Lange as Constance Langdon, Lady Gaga as a "siren" for a serial killer and the Lost Colony of the Roanoke. Of these, the last topic seems to have the most credence as leaks of "American Horror Story" Season 6 production showed a period colonial house built especially for "AHS" S6 was spotted in a California forest.

Meanwhile, NME went through the past "American Horror Story" seasons - "Murder House" (S1), "Asylum" (S2), "Coven" (S3), "Freak Show" (S4) and "Hotel" (S5) to see which "AHS" season ranks as best. Based on assessment, "Coven" seems to continue to be the standard that "American Horror Story" Season 6 should rank as the best "AHS" offering.
