Nicole Richie has been living a quiet life with her husband, the Good Charlotte band member, Joel Madden. The reality TV star opened up about her fair share in the parenting world as she tells the fans some of the greatest lessons she learned in raising her kids.

Nicole Richie shies away from the spotlight as she turned herself into a full pledged mother and a fashion designer. After settling down with her husband Joel Madden, the couple shared two kids, Sparrow and Harlow. During an interview with People, Nicole Richie shared some of the most important lessons when it comes to parenting.

Nicole Richie then shared that she gives her children the freedom when it comes to their clothing choices. The fashion designer then shared that both her kids dress themselves up as she lets them do their own thing.

"They dress themselves," Nicole Richie told People during an interview. "Sparrow does his own thing. He likes to wear all black like his dad."

Nicole Richie then added that her daughter Harlow, on the other hand, likes to experiment with her own style. She then added that she lets her kids dress up in a way that they would want to. She then added that one of the biggest lessons she learned in raising her kids is that, "one should never judge."
