NBA Rumors: Houston Rockets To Give Up Sam Dekker, Patrick Beverly For Nerlens Noel Of Philadelphia 76ers

Nerlens Noel is now being linked to the NBA team, Houston Rockets, as reports are saying that they are willing to give up Sam Dekker and Patrick Beverly as well as throw in a future first-round pick for the Philadelphia 76ers player.

The Houston Rockets had a disappointing playoff in the 2015-2016 NBA season and the team wants to be able to contend better for this upcoming 2016-2017 NBA season. According to reports, they want Noel to play alongside James Harden.

Harden played with Dwight Howard last season and they were one of the powerful duos. However, the two had a dispute, which greatly affected the way that they played during the 2015-2016 NBA season. Howard was then let go by Houston Rockets in the recent free agency. It is notable, however, that Houston Rockets has not yet found a replacement for Howard.

Howard played the center post and if they would acquire Noel from the Philadelphia 76ers, it would benefit both teams. For Houston Rockets, having Noel in the team means they would be able to fill the gap left by Howard while losing Noel for the Philadelphia 76ers means their crowded frontcourt will be lessened. Philadelphia 76ers recently acquired Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, and Joel Embiid, Sportsrageous reported.

Also, Noel playing alongside Jahlil Okafor was not a great strategy for the Philadelphia 76ers. Last season, Okafor and Noel were outscored because they did not have chemistry in the court, Morning News USA reported. Reports have surfaced that Noel would be the one traded by Philadelphia 76ers before the upcoming training camp or before the February trade deadline.

More on Philadelphia 76ers, if the trade ensues with the Houston Rockets, they could pair Simmons and Beverly to work together in court since they need a steady defensive presence for the team. Beverly is one of the top guards in the NBA and he is a great three-point shooter.

Do you think Nerlens Noel should go to Houston Rockets and will Philadelphia 76ers really benefit from the possible trade? Let us know your thoughts!
