‘Young & Restless’ Cast & Spoilers: Michael Muhney Hints Return As Adam Newman?

Adam Newman's fate in "The Young and the Restless" remains uncertain until now following the departure of Justin Hartley. Since the actor left for the primetime "This is Us," many fans have been hoping for Michael Muhney's return as Adam Newman. Will fans get their wish? Muhney has been hinting at the possibility.

Michael Muhney played as Adam Newman before Justin Hartley. He was fired from "The Young and the Restless" in 2014 for allegedly misbehaving with a female co-star, Hunter King. Aside from Justin Hartley's exit, there were recent shakeups in the daytime soap that could pave the way for Muhney reprising his role. Jill Farren Phelps was fired and was replaced by Mal Young, and King was dropped to a recurring role. The two were reportedly responsible for kicking out Muhney.

Fan-favorite Michael Muhney has not confirmed nor denied the rumors that he is going back to "The Young and the Restless," which ups the hopes among fans that could see him in the Y&R canvass once more. Instead, the actor has been tweeting Y&R posts, which kind of give the hints of his return to the CBS soap opera.

One of his posts is a throwback picture. He wrote, "#TBT my co-star (little Max Page) helping me shave at work (photobomb courtesy of Jeanne Cooper)." He also hinted that he's working on something big, although it wasn't clear if it's the Adam Newman role fans have been looking forward to. "Ugh. Twice this month I made it to the 'final two' for leads in new shows. Good shows. I really don't wanna be the bridesmaid anymore," he tweeted. He also wrote, "There's always another chapter to write," and "101 reasons to smile today."

For now, Adam Newman remains dead after an explosion in "The Young and the Restless." Spoilers hint though that he has survived and someone is taking care of him now.
