Hurricane Matthew Reaches a Very Dangerous Level While Heading to the U.S.

Hurricane Matthew has already become a Category 4 storm. This means that Hurricane Matthew has become particularly dangerous and it's already heading towards the U.S.

According to a report by Forbes, 150 mph winds were already detected around the storm's eye. Hurricane Matthew is rapidly increasing in intensity. Days ago, it started out as a usual tropical disturbance and now Hurricane Matthew has become the strongest in a decade.

There is no evidence that points where exactly Hurricane Matthew will land, but there are predictions that say the storm is approaching the Atlantic Coast of the United States and it will make a landfall around next week. Little is known about the possible damage that Hurricane Matthew may cause to the country.

Days ago, Hurricane Matthew has actually reached Category 5, but it decreased into Category 4. Since its strength changes from time to time, it may not be as powerful as expected once it makes its landfall on the U.S. coast. But the opposite scenario is also possible.

The United States is doing its own preparations for the upcoming potential disaster. The counties in Florida and North Carolina are already in a state of emergency. Their governors are taking no chances.

The storm is currently only a source of worry for the U.S., but it's already a serious threat to Jamaica, Bahamas, Eastern Cuba, and especially Haiti which is still vulnerable from previous natural disasters. It is predicted that these countries will experience powerful winds, floods, and a vicious storm surge.

The people from these countries, as well as their government agencies, are already preparing for the storm. Some of them are starting to evacuate and stock on food supplies. Unfortunately, there are those whose living conditions are too dire to be able to prepare for the coming storm such as the displaced residents of Haiti.
