LeBron James' NBA Rookie Card Was Sold For A Massive Auction Price; Ranked As 3rd Highest Sold NBA Card

LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers has set another record and yet the NBA 2016-2017 Season hasn't started yet. LeBron James' Rookie NBA Card was auctioned and was sold for a massive price of $312,000.

According to the Cavaliers 247, LeBron James 2003 - 2004 Rookie NBA Card was to an unknown bidder. Goldin Auctions said in an interview that they receive several phone calls and emails from LeBron James Rookie Card owners that they are intending to sell their cards.

The said LeBron James Rookie Card contains a sign of LeBron James himself and an NBA logo from James' Cavaliers jersey. It was initially auctioned for at least $200,000.

This LeBron James Rookie Card now ranks 3rd highest basketball card being sold. The card was topped by the 1969 Lew Alcindor Rookie Card, sold for $501,000 and the 1948 George Mikan Rookie Card being sold for $403,664 to be exact. The latest LeBron James Rookie Card has beaten the previous 3rd highest card which was the 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth which was sold for $50,787 as reported.

It has been reported that the this latest LeBron James Rookie Card that was sold pulled in a pack of $125 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection. The card was bought by an NBA card collector, though the price was mentioned as the buyer wants to it be confidential, the NBA card was bought 2 months after the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Championship this year.

The ESPN said in their report that LeBron James last item that was being sold with a very high price was LeBron James Rookie Card as well. It was sold to Bill Lee, who is a venture capitalist by the Upper Deck's Exquisite Collection, for a regular retail price of $500 per pack.

The future NBA Hall of Famer LeBron James has created another record this year. LeBron James is currently known as the most dominant NBA player of this generation.
