"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 spoilers reveal that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev may be reuniting for the last time on the small screens. While Delena fans are hoping for the reunion to be between Damon and Elena, a report from Celeb Dirty Laundry claims that the 27-year-old actress may reprise her role as Katherine.

According to the publication, Paul Wesley recently shared a photo from "TVD" Season 8. In the said photo, Wesley can be seen in character as Stefan from what appears to be in the 1800s.

This means that "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 can go back in time in order to provide a resolution to the storyline. This led to conclusions that Dobrev will return to Mystic Falls as Katherine in order to wrap things up between her, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley).

Of course, this still remains as a speculation, as series creator Julie Plec previously told TVLine that they are still in talks with Dobrev for her return to "TVD" Season 8. Plec shared that she and Dobrev made a promise for the latter to return to The CW drama's final season.

Since then, there have been countless rumors surrounding Dobrev and Somerhalder's reunion in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. Some even claim that Kristen Stewart may be filling in for the role, but The CW has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
