Son of the Notorious Kingpin 'El Chapo' is Said to be Responsible for the Deadly Ambush

The Guzman brothers, sons of the notorious drug kingpin, Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman was kidnapped but were then released after five days. Less than a month after their release, the iconic brothers are said to be responsible for the deadly ambush that took place in Mexico.

'El Chapo's' sons are suspected to be responsible for the Mexican ambush that occurred last Friday, October 7. The deadly ambush killed five soldiers and left ten others wounded according to Telegraph's report.

The attack which took place on the edge of Culiacan, which is known as the home base of the Sinaloa Cartel is being pointed towards the Guzman brothers. It was mentioned that the convoy carrying a high-profile detainee, Julio Ortiz was ambushed. According to authorities, the ambush was headed by armed men as they threw grenades into the convoy vehicle.

General Alfonso Duarte, the regional defense ministry commander-in-charge of Sinaloa said that they are not yet sure of who headed the attack. He then added that Ortiz was taken by the armed men who initiated the ambush, yet they are still uncertain as to whether he was kidnapped, or the attackers were there to save him.

"We aren't sure (about the identity of the attackers), but it's very probable that they work for the sons of El Chapo," Duarte told the reporters during an interview.

Alongside General Duarte, is the Sinaloa Governor, Mario Lopez who expressed his thoughts on the ambush. He then stated that the ambush was a cowardly move as the police never got the change to defend their selves.

"It was a cowardly attack on the soldiers, unfortunately, didn't have a chance to defend themselves," Sinaloa Governor, Mario Lopez then added.

One of the sons of 'El Chapo' was previously kidnapped along with five other cartel members according to Mirror. Jesus Alfredo Guzman, however, was released five days after he was captured.
