Frank Castle 'The Punisher' Season 1 Air Date, News & Update: More Set Photos Leak! Jon Bernthal Says The Vigilante Assassin Can Beat Batman

"The Punisher" on Netflix is in the midst of filming it very first season. Photos from the set have been leaked online as production is underway in New York. Meanwhile, star Jon Bernthal claims that his character Frank Castle/The Punisher would be able to beat Batman in a fight.

Latest sightings on "The Punisher" set in New York reveal that "Daredevil's" Karen Page is going to figure in the Netflix series. Deborah Ann Woll, the actress playing the character, was pictured at work with Jon Bernthal, who is seen covering himself with a hoodie like a homeless man.

Viewers of "Daredevil" Season 2, where "The Punisher" was first introduced, would recall that Karen Page has a special connection with Frank Castle so her appearance in the stand alone series is expected. However, Deborah Ann Woll is only going to be in a few episodes of "The Punisher" as a recurring guest star.

We Got This Covered reports that "The Punisher" stars have been filming scenes in Chinatown. The site also reports on earlier sightings of Jon Bernthal in a Brooklyn set. The cameras for "The Punisher" are indeed actively rolling. Netflix has not yet set the show's air date, but speculations are that it might likely be launched in 2018 along with the third season of "Daredevil."

Meanwhile, Jon Bernthal did not flinch when a fan asked who would win between Batman and The Punisher in a fight, Screen Geeks reports. The actor confidently stated that his character would beat the billionaire vigilante.

But it's not likely that the two would cross paths in any cinematic universe, even as they have a lot of similarities. Both The Punisher and Batman suffered intense grief when they lost family members and both turned to fighting crime to avenge their families. Yet the Punisher is a Marvel character while Batman is a DC character, thus their meeting would never happen.
