'Injustice 2' Updates & Rumors: Batman's Ally Against Superman Hinted; Deeper Storyline Underway

Reports are claiming that "Injustice 2" is slated for a 2017 release, and updates about the highly anticipated game have already saturated the web. Fans of the NetherRealm title has also started to predict and speculate what the sequel has to offer.

While the official "Injustice 2" roster has yet to be confirmed, there have been a lot of bets from the gaming community this early. Most talked about additions as of writing include Captain Cold, Blue Beatle, Swamp Thing, and even Ra's al Ghul and Ray Palmer a.k.a. The Atom.

The clamor for the inclusion of Blue Beetle, Captain Cold and Swamp Thing in "Injustice 2" was a result of a poll game director Ed Boon posted, Christian Today noted. According to the publication, a lot of fans are rooting for Blue Battle's addition to the sequel.

However, several hints have been made suggesting Captain Cold's "Injustice 2" debut. A photo of an "Injustice 2" shirt that leaked online back in June featured weapons of choice of the characters in the game. Coincidentally, the shirt allegedly showed Captain Cold's Cold Gun.

As for Ra's al Ghul and The Atom, EventHubs recently reported that both characters could be included in "Injustice 2" because of their immense popularity in the DC TV series "Arrow" and "Legends of Tomorrow." While it remains to be pure speculation as of writing, there have been reports suggesting that Ra's will be Batman's ally against Superman.

Other "Injustice 2" updates have also shifted the focus on the possibility of having a PC and mobile version of the game after its console release. Nonetheless, fans can expect a very different sequel with a deeper storyline, Xbox One UK noted.
