'Sonic The Hedgehog' Film Set For Release? Sega Eyeing To Beat 'Wreck-It Ralph'

The success of "Wreck-It-Ralph" can be felt not just by the young audience but also by the adults in the family. It was certainly a very entertaining movie for the whole family. In fact, a sequel is due to be in the movies on March 9, 2018. This is opposite the "Sonic The Hedgehog" project.

Yes, even if animated, character drama is very effective, the gaming but goofy gags just made this kind of movie creation a sort of entertainment with a heart.  It did not fail to send true messages of friendship, unselfish love, and absolute self-sacrifice. The kind of setting that "Sonic The Hedgehog" aims for, says Hollywood Reporter.

Tim Miller's failed venture with "Deadpool 2" for Fox has moved to Sony developing a movie with the same nature as "Wreck-It-Ralph" called "Sonic The Hedgehog," which is derived from another video gaming character.

Gaming videos turned to movies are not always a hit but this did not discourage Sony Pictures especially when Tim Miller becomes the executive producer. Jeff Fowler whom he had worked with before is also with the project, according to Cinema Blend.

Sega created "Sonic the Hedgehog" in 1991 and was noted to be very sought-after in the 1990s and still very popular to this date. The newest game version is the "Sonic Mania" that will be available in the second quarter of 2017.

Sega, as far as 2014, has already contemplated in coming up with "Sonic The Hedgehog" movie. This is very challenging for Jeff Fowler to direct "Sonic the Hedgehog" as his initial full-length movie. However, it is in very capable hands with Tim Miller around, says The Wrap.

As a hybrid live-action animation, "Sonic The Hedgehog" can be difficult in terms of production. Sonic did great things with the video game mascots back in the 90's, but since the 3D technology get popularized, original games are tossed aside, says The Gee.

"Sonic The Hedgehog" is expected to be released in 2018 - perhaps in competition with 'Wreck-It-Ralph' by March of the same year?
