iOS 10.2 Beta Release Date: Public Test Happening Now; Update Introduces Professional Emojis For All Genders

Apple has released the first beta of the upcoming iOS 10.2 update to the public. The release came a day after the release of iOS 10.1.1.

The first beta of iOS 10.2 is already out for public testing and beta testers are already starting to sign-up at the testing program website. Those who have already registered will receive the iOS 10.2 update via over-the-air means, but it is needed to secure a proper certificate for their respective iOS device prior to the iOS 10.2 update.

Those who want to join the iOS 10.2 public testing can sign-up at the Apple testing website, which will allow testers to access MacOS Sierra as well. And since beta tests like the iOS 10.2 do not promise stability in installing, a secondary device is recommended to be used as a primary testing device. This is so that no important files or data will get affected when iOS 10.2 begins to run.

"As a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you'll be able to enroll your Mac or iOS device to access the macOS and iOS public betas," Apple wrote on the testing website. "Each public beta comes with a built-in Feedback Assistant app that appears in your Dock on your Mac and on the second page of your Home screen on your iOS device. When you come across an issue that needs addressing, send your report directly to Apple with Feedback Assistant."

iOS 10.2 has fixed several issues, according to Mac Rumors, aside from giving out new features to the already impressive iOS 10. Some of the iOS 10.2 enhancements include, new Unicode characters like selfie, fox face, drooling faces, palm, clown face, shark, owl, butterfly, pancakes and avocado, among others. Professional emojis are also added, which considers both male and female genders.

The iOS 10.2 update also brings an updated artwork to the current emoji. There are added details that would make them more realistic. Furthermore, iOS 10.2 update offers new wallpaper, a "Celebrate Screen Effect," a videos widget, new Music sorting options, and many more.
