Netflix 'A Series Of Unfortunate Events' Trailer, Spoilers & Updates: Fans Are Raving Over This Startling Detail! [VIDEO]

Netflix has finally unveiled a new teaser to "A Series of Unfortunate Events" featuring the actors and their popular literary characters. Neil Patrick Harris' portrayal as the evil Count Olaf drew a lot of positive reactions. But one startling detail about the upcoming show has fans raving about the casting.

"A Series of Unfortunate Events" features three orphaned children -- Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire. It didn't escape fans that the actress picked to play Violet in the Netflix series -- Malina Weissman -- is a dead-ringer for the actress who played the role in the 2004 movie -- Emily Browning.

Radio Times reports that ASOUE fans on Twitterverse raved about Malina's physical resemblance to Emily. To many fans, this means that both productions have a clear picture of how Violet actually looks like from the original source, which is Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events'" book series.

Australian actress Emily Browning was only teenager when she was cast in the "A Series of Unfortunate Events" film that starred Jim Carrey as Count Olaf. Since then, she has worked on a handful of movies including "Sucker Punch" and "The Uninvited." The actress will soon be seen as the lead in the upcoming Starz' TV series adaptation of Neil Gaiman's "American Gods," according to Collider.

Malina Weissman was barely a year old when Emily Browning's "A Series of Unfortunate Events" movie came out in theaters. The actress also played young Supergirl in The CW's "Supergirl" and was in the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" film as the young April O'Neil. She worked with ASOUE director Barry Sonnenfeld in the movie "Nine Lives" as well.

Meanwhile, Neil Patrick Harris has already changed his Twitter profile photo to that of Count Olaf. In previous interviews, the actor said that his take on the character will be darker and more sinister than the version in the movie. After all, those who have followed "A Series of Unfortunate Events" in the books say that Count Olaf should be a terrifying presence and not a caricature.

"A Series of Unfortunate Events" will be released on Friday, Jan. 13, on Netflix, globally. It will have eight episodes only. The second season is already in pre-production. Check out the said video that had fans raving about Malina Weissman's casting below.
