'The Defenders' Season 1 News & Updates: Casting Complete Except For Wilson Fisk - Won't Vincent D'Onofrio Join?

Casting announcements for "The Defenders" is complete. The Netflix and Marvel series is going to bring together the main and supporting cast from "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones", "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist," which boast of an ensemble of actors.

But in light of casting that has already been confirmed for "The Defenders," one name has not been announced. Wilson Fisk, who is played by Vincent D' Onofrio and who is also part of "Daredevil's" last two seasons, has not been named for the show featuring all four Marvel heroes. Is he actually going to be in "The Defenders"?

It's curious that Vincent D' Onofrio's Wilson Fisk has not yet been cast for "The Defenders" when early teasers to the series hints of his connection. Comic Book notes that "The Defenders" will feature The Hand with Madame Gao and her fighting ninjas.

It has been established in "Daredevil" that The Hand has close ties with Wilson Fisk and the rest of the underworld as the Kingpin. Hence, his presence, resources and influence should be expected on "The Defenders."

But last September, Vincent D'Onofrio hinted on his future in "The Defenders," and for that matter on "Daredevil" Season 3. The latter show, by the way, is expected to return on Netflix in late 2017 or sometime in 2018, after the first run of "The Defenders."

The actor told Latino Review that his character can return on a Netflix show, but he's not saying which and there is no pressure for him from the producers. "I think that there's this common ground where they say, 'Look, if the material is good are you going to show up?' and I said, 'Definitely," Vincent D'Onofrio said about Wilson Fisk.

"The Defenders" on Netflix is set to film in November. Check back to this site for more updates about the show.
